Some say labour is hard…
Some say it’s not that hard…
I think the ones that say the latter are the ones that haven’t experienced it
Or are men…
I was fortunate enough to be in the delivery room when one of my best friends was having a baby… (The one I planed the baby shower for…remember?)
Words cannot describe the emotions that went through me…
It wasn’t scary,
It wasn’t galling,
It was magnificent and breathtaking.
I was so proud of my friend,
I was so thankful to God for ensuring a safe delivery
And I was sooo proud of the fact that I am a woman..
who would one day be opportuned to go through that...
I tell you, whoever said “Women are the weaker sex”, has a screw loose in their brain!
Women are strong, brave and downright heroic.
For only a hero can go through what I saw my friend go through.
To all the mothers out there…
This one’s for you!
P.S. I am only having 2 kids now (changed my mind from having 4)
P.P.S. I hope they come as twins! :-)
P.P.P.S. I may not be around for a few weeks in a few weeks time- going away on a well deserved holiday!-
So if you dont find me on your blogs, or if I dont update till I get back, it doesnt mean my love for you has died! :o)
We both drew straws..

Amen. Women are the strongest beings on earth. I love the way you spin it " I am so proud of the fact that I am a woman, who would one day be OPPORTUNED to go through that". Wow. Me too. But I fear the pain. however as you say, it is a blessing to be a woman. I am thankful she had a safe delivery, and wish you a peaceful and nice holiday!
@OPTIMISTIC_alyzzz-
In all honesty, I've wanted twins for as long as I can remember...
And you are right...It really IS a humbling experience...

Truth is I think EVERYBODY fears that pain- I mean despite the fact that it was a beautiful experience for me to be there, I still cried like a lil baby when i saw the pain my friend was going through...

I dint feel queasy- funny enough, but then again, I dont get irritated or put off at the sight of blood...But I did feel like I had been let into some big secret Lol.
@Zena-
Lol. Quadruplets sha! Did i offend you? Lol.
Dunno why, I have just always wanted to have twins!
Wow, i get scared when i think of the Birthing Process, I blame it on a particular aunt’s Video >>>shivers<<<
And you are right "Women are strong, brave and downright heroic"
It's amazing how right after the baby is out, the exhilaration the mother has at seeing the child surpasses all the pain she went through.
Aww congrats to your friend. And enjoy your holiday!
hi
I am SO terrified of childbirh and labor. God help me, at this stage I'm feeling like if I can adopt kids and get away with it, I will.
waow- that must have been some kinda experience. congrats on being a God-mother.
Congrats to your friend. Childbirth IS the most amazing experience.
We are hands down the stronger sex. :) Ejoy your vacation.
(clears throat) speaking as a health student, birthing depends on a lot of factors concerning the anatomy of the woman. but forget that tin. na true you talk sha. women are strong o! i was with my aunt when she gave birth. wow! it was something else.
Oh love that sounds beautiful, I only hope that I am blessed enough to have children.
Well written. I hope I have the strength to go through that one day. I am scared stiff of childbirth.
Enjoy your holiday.
...and i share your thoughts and passion hook,line and sinker...Mothers are everythin in life...True for me.....
@Gochi-
Lol. But then, who isnt scared of the process? And you are so on point! Cos i remember that the minute my friend held her baby, she was beyond happy- you should have seen the look on her face
@Miss Fab-
Thanks a lot girl!
@Blog Critic-

@SexKitten-

@Bibi-

@Luscious LU-
The pain me i saw was too strong to be ignored o! But more importantly, the joy on my friend's face was PRICELESS!
And when i said i only wanna go tru it once, i was kidding- I know I would go through it more than once. Now if only they can come up with a way that will make it easier than it is now :)
@Smaragd-
Thanks girl!
Everyone wants it, yet we cant stop being scared of it! lol.
I have always wanted twins though- but ONLY IF they are identical and the same sex! lol
The childbirth experience still terrifies me. Left to me, I would have only one child-through a c-section!lol.
Have fun on your vacation!
